Dear Friend & Patron of the Arts,

“All the world’s a stage…”

Founded in the summer of 2023, Shakespeare Coeur d’Alene is a 501c3 non-profit organization transforming the cultural landscape of North Idaho by bringing together artists and art enthusiasts through high-quality Shakespeare productions, educational events, table readings, and much more.

We are asking you to partner with us to ensure that Shakespeare’s timeless works become a staple in North Idaho.

In 2024, we were proud to produce our first season: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, performed at the Riverstone Amphitheatre, and Macbeth at the Salvation Army Kroc Center. Audiences responded to every performance with cheers and standing ovations. Over and over again, we heard from enthusiastic patrons that we were providing something desperately needed in our community.

Recently, Inlander newspaper readers named Shakespeare CDA’s Macbeth one of the region’s Best Plays of 2024. We are honored to receive such recognition – a second-place finish – in our very first year!

Our second season has us returning to the Kroc with two of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays. In June and July, a hilarious, star-spangled Much Ado About Nothing promises to entertain both new audiences and veteran theatergoers. In October, a brooding, modern Hamlet takes the stage.

We hope that you will be a part of our story by becoming a Shakespeare Coeur d’Alene sponsor. Your tax-deductible gift will enhance your company’s reputation as a cultural steward and patron of the arts, while enabling local families and visitors alike to enjoy our performances for a reasonable price.

On behalf of the Shakespeare Coeur d’Alene team, thank you for your time and consideration.

Kind Regards,

Maggie Johnson                      Mary T. Bowers
Executive Director                  Artistic/Educational Director

Our first year’s impact…

In the past year, we were thrilled to welcome over 2,200 attendees to our two main plays, providing enriching cultural experiences for the community. Additionally, 300 students participated in our student matinee performances, where they were provided with educational materials to enhance their learning. Our commitment to educational outreach also extended to local schools, with our artistic director, Mary, visiting them to teach.

Along with teaching, we have gotten the privilege to host several library events designed for children. Beyond our performances, we were excited to strengthen our community connections by joining the Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls Chambers of Commerce. We also expanded our collaborations with local organizations, and fellow non profits. These partnerships allowed us to further engage with our audience and contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the region.
